Build a Fleet Management Network You Can Be Proud Of

No secret here that we talk about and recommend to nearly everyone that they use GPS tracking to insure business success and gain a terrific ROI on their investment.  But a justifiable criticism is that we don’t make enough specific recommendations.  Well, let’s get specific.

Siemens is a world leader in fleet telematics products.  their modules and electronics are first class, second to none.  Although Siemens does manufacturer individual vehicle “black boxes” I don’t recommend them personally because they are not, in my view, properly set up to serve the individual fleet owner.

NetworkCar, on the other hand, is a progressive US company with a strong background in individual fleet service.  they are big enough to do the job and yet small enough to be realistic to deal with.  NetworkCar has offered a nice fleet management system (trade named NetworkFleet) for several years now.  It’s a great value for the money, installs easily, offers monitoring and reporting over a simple web interface (no software and/or server maintenance hassles) and has included a limited subset of vehicle telematics since its earliest days.  But good companies don’t keep selling the same offerings year after year.  And smart companies don’t try to re-invent the wheel by duplicating technology in-house.  Thus a news release I came across today seemed quite interesting:

NetworkCar announced today that it has selected the Siemens TC63 wireless module for its award-winning NetworkFleet wireless vehicle management system that connects fleet managers with every aspect of their vehicle operations. The Siemens module is integrated into the NetworkFleet in-vehicle device, which collects and wirelessly transmits data directly from a vehicle’s engine computer and from a global positioning system (GPS).
NetworkFleet transmits GPS location and engine diagnostics wirelessly from the vehicle to a network operation center. Fleet managers can log on to a dedicated Web site anytime to view specific vehicle data such as current location, fuel consumption, mileage, speed, emissions, and idle-time through a secure, easy-to-use web application. Customers using NetworkFleet also receive instant email notifications when a vehicle goes beyond pre-set limits … full text here

Unlike a lot of press release palaver that crosses my desk every day I think this one worthy of note.  This partnership can’t help to make a good system and a good value better.  Some interesting NetworkFleet benefits in the link/list below:

If you have a fleet … from small salesman’s cars to over the road truck, you really should take a look, get a demonstration in your own vehicles and give this some careful thought.  Like another recant ROI example from the UK I just posted about the numbers here make al lot of sense.  You’ll get an ROI in less than a year and you’ll continue to save more and more as fuel prices climb.  DISCLAIMER I don’t work for or sell NetworkFleet.  This information is provided strictly as a service to vehicle owners.fleet managers as a pointer to one of many products I know to be capable of doing the job. YMMV.
