So You Think The GPS Tracking Business Will Slow Down?

Well maybe it will and maybe it won’t.  Basic GPS tracking is a service that provides avery rapid ROI … pays for itself in six months or less .. the faster gas prices rise, the faster the GPS tracking ROI, actuallyt.

But saving money is one thing … a good thing to be sure … but the business has to make it’s profit elsewhere.  What about actully incrassing production and profit from GPS tracking technology?

I really find it laughable how many businesses that produce something via moving machines are only now coming on board here.  Eeven if manufacturing and other production disiplines slow markedly, I feel GPS tracking will still see continued growth.

Let me give you an analogy from the metal machining world.  When is the last time you saw alathe or milling machine being operated manually by a machine operator in a factory or job shop?  My bet is, a long time ago.  Eeven ‘one horse’, small job shps have converted to NC semi-automated machines … or else their doors are closed and their windows shuttered.

The world of moving machines is no different.  A road grader operator can hew dirt to a specified grade with geat precson.  But it took him 10 years to get that good, and o mattr how good he is, a decent GPS tracking machine control system will hold the grade better, faster and thus cheaper.

Years ago I worked for a senior IT guy who tried to instill in us the ‘better, faster cheaper’ model.  We used to joke about “you can have any two” , but not all three.

The boss was right and we were wrong.  With GPS machine control you can track your way to higher profits.  Better, faster, cheaper.
