The media seems to always be full of complaints about GPS and computer privacy, an dhow bad the world is getting with “big brother” watching us all the time. A lot of privacy advocates bemoan the loss of personal freedoms and how we are slifding down alipper slope.

Well don’t try to tell that to this trucker

(see: Truck Computer Data Contradicts Police Charges Against Driver in July Death of an Officer)

A trucker involved in a fatal accident is currently in jail, but apparently will be released because data obtained from on-board truck computer records disproves charges that police filed at the time of the accident)

That electronic record keeping is bad for his rights. bet he wishes he had a system that had been immediately available to police. He might not have had to spend nearly 6 months in the slammer.

6 months in jail based on a cop’s knee-jerk reaction … how much privacy do you really want.
