There Is An ROI In Fun, Is There Not?
I don’t know when the sailors will get released. I wanted to write a bit more about GPS coordinate systems, map projections and the fallacy of “where” … but it sounded boring.![]()
Here’s an overview shot of a great tool a fellow sent me a link to the other day. The main product is called Trip Tracker SPORTS MATE and you really need to visit the site, they have a lot of features that make this more than just a GPS tracker to record your running, biking or hiking. Among some of the great things I noticed:
- Upload a map of any trip … and share it if you wish
- Link photos you made during the trip so you and your friends know where the image was taken
- Analyze the elevation you’ve traveled over
The site is well worth a visit just for the eye candy. This balloon trip over the Alps really caught my eye. I’m a big balloon fan but even when I lived in Colorado they always seemed to fly “mainly on the plain” … and knowing a big about mountain winds I understand why.
Take a look and learn about a lot of ways you can make your life more enjoyable with GPS. Now when you first look at this site you may be a little confused, as I was … because I thought at first the maps and web sharing features were linked only to the nice little handheld tracker the site also sells. But if you look a little further you’ll see that this site allows you to upload data from virtually any GPS and any camera so it becomes a really nice web service that is useful to almost anyone who has traveled, exercised or taken pictures. This could become the YouTube of travel. Go visit
